(i). Agriculture.

Agriculture, with its allied sectors, is unquestionably the largest livelihood provider in India, more so in the vast rural areas. It also contributes a significant figure to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Sustainable agriculture, in terms of food security, rural employment, and environmentally sustainable technologies such as soil conservation, sustainable natural resource management and biodiversity protection, are essential for holistic rural development. Indian agriculture and allied activities have witnessed a green revolution, a white revolution, a yellow revolution and a blue revolution.

This section provides the information on agriculture produces; machineries, research etc. Detailed information on the policies, schemes, agriculture loans, market prices, loans & credit, etc. is also available.

(ii). Horticulture The main objectives of our department is to improve integrated development of Horticulture industry and to help in coordinating, sustaining the production and processing of fruits and vegetables. Detailed objectives are as under:-

Development of hi-tech commercial platform to procure horticultureproducts and srvices, which in turn will develop horticulture industry in India.

Development of integrated, energy efficient cold chain infrastructure for fresh horticulture produce.

Popularization of identified new technologies / tools / techniques for commercialization / adoption, after carrying out technology and need assessment.

Assistance in securing availability of quality planting material and need based imports of planting material.

Promotion and market development of fresh horticulture produce.

Promotion of Farm Mechanization in Horticulture through demonstration and its uses at farmers field level to reduce labour cost and increase the productivity of Horticulture crops.

Transfer of technology to producers/farmers and service providers such as gardeners, nurserymen, farm level skilled workers, operators in cold storages, work force carrying out post harvest management including processing of fresh horticulture produce and to the master trainers.

Promotion of consumption of horticulture produce and products.

Promoting long distance transport solution for bulk movement of horticulture produce through rail etc.

Husbandry Our Department of Animal Husbandry came into existence w.e.f. 1st February, 2017, The Department is responsible for matters relating to livestock production, preservation, protection from disease and improvement of stocks and dairy development, Fisheries , Livestock, inland and marine development.

The Department advises Livestock owners about the scheme, policies and programs in the field of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries from state and central Government . The main thrust areas are:

Development of requisite infrastructure in all States & UTs for improving productivity,

Preservation and protection of livestock through provision of health care,

Strengthening of livestock farms (Cattle, Sheep and Poultry) for development of superior germ plasm for distribution to states and,

Expansion of Aquaculture in fresh & brackish water, and welfare of fisher-folk etc.

Our primary agenda Is to collect database of Farmers, livestock owners across India and make them learn about the central and state based schemes for Agriculture & Animal Husbandry and to create a market place for farmers and livestock owners where they can buy products and services offered by people and companies from India and abroad.
